Chromalloy announced today that it has opened a new office in Burlington, MA, to serve as the focal point with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Engine and Propeller Certification Directorate on Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) and Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) programs.

The new office was established to give both Chromalloy and the FAA a single point of contact. It will assist in the early identification and resolution of critical issues in the PMA approval process through improved communications between Chromalloy and the FAA.

The Chromalloy office is within walking distance of the FAA offices to allow for frequent face-to-face contact.

“The most important aspect of our new office is that it will allow for improved communication, early identification and resolution of potential problems,” said Thomas Howard, Vice President of Corporate Integrity for Chromalloy. “It will also allow for more rapid approval of projects and more efficient use of resources for both parties. This is a first for Chromalloy.”

At the beginning of new projects Chromalloy and FAA technical specialists will meet at the Burlington office to identify new technologies or requirements needing special attention. Additionally, Chromalloy staff will meet on a regular basis with FAA technical specialists to insure a smooth flow of information during the course of each project.
