Palm Beach Gardens, FL October 23, 2024 – Chromalloy, a global leader for component design, part manufacturing and product certification of aftermarket solutions is pleased to announce it has received a new approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA) is the culmination of years of engineering effort to develop an alternative, high performance turbine blade for the second stage of the high-pressure turbine (HPT2) of the V2500 Select aero-engine. Chromalloy Chief Executive Officer, Chris Celtruda commented on the achievement: “We see this new approval as confirming the FAA’s confidence in the Chromalloy approach for the development and certification of PMAs for high-value engine blade and vane airfoil applications. Chromalloy is ready to deliver maximum value to our aero-engine aftermarket customers, while enabling the achievement of expected turbine engine performance and reliability.” Chromalloy has built a suite of PMA new part manufacturing and Designated Engineering Representative (DER) part repair services for several engines, including the PW2000, PW4000, CF6-80C2, V2500 and CFM56. These alternative FAA-approved solutions are fit and function replacements for the equivalent OEM part.
Chromalloy is proud to be the largest provider of FAA-approved PMA parts for the complex high pressure turbine section of aerospace engines. This new PMA approval supplements an existing range of PMA and DER in-service solutions for the V2500 Select and Pre-Select engine types.
The HPT2 PMA blade is available exclusively through Chromalloy and first customer shipments have commenced. The company actively maintains a stocking position for full shipsets of turbine blades to assist our customers in meeting or expediting shop visit turnaround times.
