POWER-GEN Asia gears up in Kuala Lumpur

Southeast Asia’s largest conference and exhibition for the power generation industry gets under way September 10-12 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 22nd annual POWER-GEN Asia offers a multi-track conference agenda, technical tours and networking events. POWER-GEN will be co-located with Renewable Energy World Asia and the Asia Financial Forum.

During the three-day gathering at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Chromalloy will exhibit a full line of turbine engine components, manufacturing and aftermarket services, and diagnostic monitoring. POWER-GEN Asia attendees are invited to visit Chromalloy in Booth 2046.

At 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, Dr. Charlie Nicol, Diagnostic System Manager, Chromalloy Turbine Services, will be a featured speaker presenting a case study on “Ten Years Remotely Monitoring a GE Frame 6 Gas Turbine.”

Director of Engineering appointed at Chromalloy’s San Antonio operation

Chromalloy Component Services in San Antonio, Texas, appointed James Braswell as Director of Engineering. With several years of airline maintenance expertise, Braswell has led teams and programs throughout his career. He joined Chromalloy in 2012 as Product Support Engineering Manager and in 2014 became Repair Development Engineering Manager.

Earlier he worked at Texas Aero Engine Services as Lead Engineer, managing Rolls-Royce Trent 800 and RB211-535 maintenance programs. Prior to that, he worked for several years at American Airlines in the role of Power Plant Operations Engineer, managing Rolls-Royce Trent 800 and RB211-535 on-wing maintenance. Braswell holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University. He is LEAN certified and a Six Sigma Green Belt.


Shanghai to host Gas Turbine World China Summit

The 4th Annual Gas Turbine World China Summit featuring industry experts in plenary sessions and presentations will be held September 25-26 at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Luwan. China’s natural gas power generation industry and turbine technology developments will be featured during the opening plenary session on September 25.

Other experts to present include Jiang Hongde, Head of Gas turbines and coal gasification combined cycle, National Engineering Research Center; Liu Zhitan, Head of GT Research Center, China Guodian Corporation; Eisaku Ito, Deputy General Manager, Takasago R&D Center, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries; David J. Seattle to host MRO-Network’s Airline E&M: North America event

Industry experts will discuss identifying and leveraging opportunities in North American aviation during MRO-Network's upcoming Airline E&M: North America conference. The conference, titled “Navigating the Challenges and Risks of a Mature MRO Market to Position Your Business for Growth,” will be held September 23-25 in Seattle, Wash.
