Chromalloy enters into long-term agreement with Pratt & Whitney to support the new PurePower PW1100G-JM Engine Supply Chain

Chromalloy has entered into three significant new long-term parts and service agreements with leading aircraft engine producer Pratt & Whitney for manufacturing and supply chain activities on the new PurePower PW11000G-JM engine and to provide aftermarket support on legacy engines.

“Chromalloy continues to build on our longstanding relationship and service excellence to Pratt & Whitney with a series of agreements to provide manufacturing and aftermarket support on new and legacy systems,” said Armand F. Lauzon, Jr., Chief Executive Officer. “We are pleased to support the revolutionary new PurePower PW1100G-JM engine designed to power the Airbus A320neo.”

Chromalloy will produce investment cast parts and provide advanced coatings, machining and drilling on other components.

The other two agreements cover materials and services for several Pratt & Whitney and Pratt & Whitney Canada aircraft engine platforms.


Turbine industry leader appointed Business Development Director at Nevada

Jason Humphries, a long-time turbine industry executive and technical expert, has joined Chromalloy’s Nevada operation as Business Development Director, responsible for the Nevada and Mexicali, Mexico, operations. Humphries brings P&L management, operations, compliance, sales and marketing, finance and supply chain expertise to the company.

He joins Chromalloy from Ametek Amerion where he was Business Unit Vice President responsible for FAA 145 repair divisions in New York; St. Louis, Mo.; and California.

Earlier he was European Sales Director at the Wood Group. Humphries began his career at Chromalloy’s UK facility as Development Engineer. He earned degrees in computer and engineering from the Peoples College in Nottingham, England, and Staffordshire University in Stafford, England, and an MBA in business management from Abertay University in Dundee, Scotland.


Charlotte to host Combined Cycle Operations & Maintenance conference

Chromalloy is an industry sponsor of the upcoming Combined Cycle Operations & Maintenance conference and gathering January 22-23, at the Embassy Suites in Charlotte, N.C. Titled “Embracing Breakthrough Strategies to Implement Predictive Maintenance,” the conference will feature a host of expert speakers, panels and workshops, and networking.

The first-ever MRO Latin America sponsored by Aviation Week tees up January 21-22 at the Windsor Atlântica in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. International Petroleum Technology Conference gears up at Qatar

The annual International Petroleum Technology Conference, an industry gathering featuring keynotes, expert panels, technical programs and training sessions, will be held January 19-22, 2014, at the Qatar National Convention Center, Qatar. The conference will address technology and issues that challenge industry professionals around the world.
