Industry expert will lead Chromalloy's coating processes

Andy Williams, a technical expert in the energy and commercial aerospace gas turbine component repair market, has been named Director of Special Coating Processes. With more than 30 years in turbine component repairs and coatings, Williams holds several patents in advanced technologies. He will lead projects across Chromalloy's technical spectrum.

He joins Chromalloy from Wood Group Gas Turbines where he was Vice President, Engineering, at the company's joint venture, EthosEnergy. Earlier he owned and operated a metal joining and heat treatment company. Prior to that, he led Chromalloy's UK operations. Williams is a member of the main board of the European Turbine Network and a member of the BSI Gas Turbine Committee on Gas Turbine Standards.


15th annual EBACE will get under way in Geneva

More than 13,000 participants are registered for the 15th annual EBACE the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition. The premier European business aviation event will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, May 19-21, and will feature more than 500 exhibiting companies from around the world.

Jointly hosted at Geneva's Palexpo by the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), EBACE will include a static display of more than 50 aircraft at the adjacent Geneva International Airport. Experts will present keynotes and participate in a conference agenda of panels, workshops and seminars.

Power & Electricity World Asia gears up in Singapore

A host of leading experts in the power generation industry headline this year's Power & Electricity World Asia 2015, being held May 5-7 at the Suntec International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Singapore. The event will showcase leading technologies and solutions for the Asian power industry.

Speakers from utilities, consultancies, industry and academia will be featured during the three-day gathering. Experts will present case studies and discuss the future of power in Asia including trends and forecasts. Singapore to host ISTAT Asia 2015

ISTAT Asia 2015 is slated for May 10-12 at Singapore's Ritz-Carlton Millenia, with sponsors Boeing, BOC Aviation, Bombardier, Embraer, GE Aviation, Rolls-Royce and other industry leaders. MRO Baltics, Eastern Europe & Russia is this week

Budapest will host Aviation Week's MRO Baltics, Eastern Europe & Russia an event offering attendees experts speaking at plenary sessions and workshops, as well as a tour of Lufthansa Technik's overhaul and maintenance facility. The gathering is May 5-6 at the Corinthia Hotel Budapest.

AeroMat 2015 will present industry developments, trends

AeroMat 2015 will get under way May 11-14 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. AeroMat a conference and exhibition for aerospace materials and applications is produced by ASM International, the world's largest association of metals-centric materials engineers and scientists.

AeroMat will feature Dr. John Grotzinger, Chief Scientist and Head of Strategic Planning for the Mars Rover Mission, during the Monday Plenary Session. Grotzinger is responsible for NASA's $2.5 billion Curiosity rover mission to Mars. The technical program will offer 12 content areas and four plenary sessions, and access to 160 technical presentations.
