'New For Used' Blade Replacement Program Gaining Momentum

Chromalloy's 'New For Used' engine blade replacement program has gained momentum in recent months, with two major U.S. airlines entering into a total of five agreements valued at approximately $7 million.

The 'New For Used' program allows engine operators and MRO centers to exchange used OEM blades for newly produced BELAC blades on the CF6-80C2 platform. Proceeds from the removed blades are used to offset the customer's cost of BELAC's new Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) replacement blades.

The exchange significantly reduces the cost for the operators who install BELAC blades, which are fully FAA-certified HPT replacements, over new OEM blades. Under the program, Chromalloy inputs operators' used blades and repairs or scraps them, depending on wear.
