Bob Shambaugh joins Chromalloy as new COO

Chromalloy has appointed industrial leader Bob Shambaugh as Chief Operations Officer. A proven operations leader with diverse expertise, Shambaugh has worked around the globe in aviation, healthcare, energy and automotive. Previously he was Senior Vice President, Global Operations, at Sensata Technologies and IMI Control Valves, distinguishing himself as a change agent leading transformation in all aspects of business operations.

Prior to that, he held many global operations positions that led to senior executive roles at GE for 19 years. In addition to GE Aircraft Engines, where he spent many years working across numerous engine platforms both in new manufacturing and aftermarket services, including the turbine airfoil unit, Shambaugh worked for GE Power Systems and GE Healthcare.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in aviation management from Southern Illinois University and completed several GE leadership programs. He served as a U.S. Marine in the Corps’ aviation group for 10 years, with vast experience on the Rolls-Royce F402 engine.

 
 

Chromalloy appoints Asia Pacific Sales Director for Energy

Roland van der Voort has joined Chromalloy’s Energy SBU to lead power generation and oil and gas sales in Asia Pacific. He joins the company as Asia Pacific Sales Director, Energy. Previously he was Program Business Manager at Siemens’ Energy Service unit in Australia.

Earlier he worked for the Wood Group in the Asia region as Business Development Director, Asia Pacific and Regional Head of Marketing. Earlier he worked at Interturbine – Elbar in the Netherlands as Regional Sales Engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and commercial management from the Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde in the UK.

 
 

Chromalloy’s Georgia unit appoints business development lead

Walid Boulos, a seasoned aviation business leader, has joined Chromalloy’s repair and manufacturing center in Newnan, Ga., as Business Development Director. Boulos joins the company from Senior Aerospace Metal Bellows where he was responsible for development, sales, contracts and customer service.

Prior to that, he was Group Director at Barnes Aerospace; Director, Military Sales/Marketing, at GE Aircraft Engines; and Senior Project Engineer in Sikorsky Aircraft’s Propulsion Group. He holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, and an MBA in international marketing from the University of Massachusetts.

Boulos succeeds Franco Amendola, who became Sales Director, Repair Services & Inventory, for Chromalloy Material Solutions.

 
 

Sales manager joins Chromalloy’s United Kingdom unit

Martin Brear, a business leader with expertise in sales, business development, new product introduction and export sales, has joined Chromalloy’s United Kingdom unit as sales manager. Brear’s background includes sales and marketing in the aerospace, nuclear and industrial gas turbine industries.

He joins Chromalloy from Sheffield Forgemasters Engineering where he was Sales Director. Prior to that, he worked at Firth Rixson Forgings in leadership positions including Sales Manager at the Darley Dale and Meadowhall units. His experience includes Doncasters Bramah & Shrewsbury, along with an earlier position as Export Sales Manager at Firth Rixson Special Metals. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business economics from Salford University in Manchester, UK.

 
 

Saudi Energy slated for May 26-28 in Riyadh

More than 7,500 attendees from 28 countries are registered for Saudi Energy – one of the region’s largest industry conference and exhibitions. Saudi Energy, a gathering for professionals and operators in the power, alternative energy, lighting and water industries, takes place May 26-28 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

A full technical seminar agenda with industry executives addressing a range of topics is planned. Seminars include topical issues and management approaches on solar and wind alternatives, hydro, petro and other resources. Alta CCMA to offer information seminars, mini meetings

In addition to other major aircraft and system manufacturers, Honeywell is a sponsor of this year’s Alta CCMA Airlines and Suppliers Annual Meeting, scheduled for May 18-21 in Cancun, Mexico. The Latin American and Caribbean Suppliers annual meeting is the region’s largest aviation gathering.

Nearly 1,000 participants are registered to attend at the Marriott Casamagna in Cancun. A series of mini meetings are scheduled, allowing airline officials to meet with suppliers in a series of 10-minute meetings. Airline meetings, presentations, information sessions and networking sessions and events are scheduled. 2014 Offshore Technology Conference under way in Houston, Texas

More than 25 offshore industry associations are sponsoring this year’s Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas. The four-day conference is May 5-8 at Reliant Park. More than 90,000 people from 129 countries are anticipated. On the agenda are technical seminars, networking events, career development workshops and award presentations.

Executives attending the Offshore Technology Conference include Jeffrey Immelt, CEO of GE, and Gustavo Hernández-Garcia, Director General of Pemex E&P. The conference offers a lineup of distinguished speakers from leading companies who will present during technology and topical sessions.

Updates will be presented including the Shell Mars B Project and other projects from international and national oil and gas companies including Pemex, Total, Petronas, BP, Chevron, Noble, CNOOC, Statoil, INPEX, Maersk, Marathon and Anadarko.
